Ciel is a standout, refined and consistent cafe experience in Melbourne’s cafe scene: from the moment you walk in, you’re greeted by the loveliest staff and an environment crafted with intention and character! Delicious coffee, unique drinks and inventive food offerings with excellent service to boot 😮‍💨😮‍💨 Lamb pita bowl was shockingly good, chicken katsu sando was immaculate and coffee delivered on all fronts!

Without a doubt- the best cappuccino I’ve had in Melbourne. Also one of the few places that does hot chocolate right. Food is great. Service and atmosphere is impeccable. No complaints.

Arrived at 11:30 and it was already packed. My friend brought me here, so I didn’t take many food photos. We both tried the matcha, and while it was fine, it wasn’t particularly surprising. But the food we ordered was amazing, especially the prawn toast and French toast. They paired perfectly with each other, one savory and the other sweet. I highly recommend these two dishes. Also, big thanks to the staff for being so considerate, even on such a busy weekend.

Great service. Great food. Great ambience. Great coffee. This is really 5/5. Mont Blanc - you can literally taste the layers, I recommend this drink! I got the brekky burger, I have no idea how this simple chicken patty can be made so succulent. One of us has the Avo Smash - the amount of avocado on the sour dough is... Let's just say the avocado is the same thickness as the loaf.

As a coffee lover from Hong Kong, I was lucky to discover this gem during my last day trip to Australia. The atmosphere is so chill, and the staff is incredibly friendly with excellent service. Despite tasting countless coffees every day, this one stands out as the best in Melbourne. I highly recommend trying the signature 'Good AM' set with raspberry.

Safe to say this was a great way to kickstart my day. I think I will be dreaming of that coffee for years to come. The food was fantastic! That perfect glossy shine on the eggs. Yum. Yum. Yum! Perfect soft jazz to elevate the atmosphere and the staff were super attentive and friendly. It’s like they read my mind, whenever I had decided what to get they were there to take my order. I can’t wait to come back.

The chilli scrambled eggs were the highlight perfectly creamy with just the right kick of heat, and the hash brown add-on made it even better. The texture, flavour balance, and portion size were spot on. I also tried the pandan French toast, and it was a standout. Soft, fragrant, and beautifully prepared easily one of the best variations I’ve had. The overall atmosphere of the café is warm, modern, and relaxing, making it a great spot to spend a slow morning.

Stopped by for brunch and this place is a total 10/10 experience! The coffee was top-tier with some of the best latte art I’ve seen (shoutout to the barista for the perfect swan) and the roast was super smooth and bold without any bitterness. For food, the Eggs Benedict was a savory masterpiece—the bacon was perfectly crispy and the hollandaise was silky with just the right amount of tang over perfectly poached eggs and thick, toasted bread. We also grabbed the French Toast which was basically edible art; it was loaded with fresh blackberries, strawberries, and cherries, plus a rich chocolate mousse that tied everything together. The toast itself had that elite crunch on the outside while staying light and fluffy inside. Both dishes were incredibly filling and the prices are honestly amazing for this level of quality and presentation. If you’re looking for high-end brunch vibes and massive portions without the crazy price tag, this is the spot. Super friendly service and a great atmosphere overall, will definitely be back soon! 🥓☕️🍓
